Impact

When I took ownership of iKhokhaโ€™s Design Systems across Web, Mobile Apps, Card Machines, and Websites, I led a company-wide shift in how design was built and shipped. I migrated the org from Adobe XD to Figma, onboarding 16+ designers, reducing tooling costs, and unlocking real-time collaboration across teams. By partnering with Engineering Managers to align design guidelines with code, I reduced UI inconsistencies and cut development time by 75% for system-driven features. I owned and maintained the component library across platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency at scale, and served as primary illustrator, revamping the illustration system used across Web, Mobile, and Card Machine experiences. This work established a scalable design foundation, accelerated delivery, and strengthened designโ€“engineering collaboration across the company.

My Role / How I Shaped The Product

I joined the iK team as Design Systems Lead, where I owned the evolution and adoption of the companyโ€™s design system across products. Led audits, migrations, and rebuilds to improve consistency, speed, and collaboration between design and engineering. I spearheaded the migration from Adobe XD to Figma, moving the entire team off a fragmented setup that slowed design workflows and caused unsynced components. This enabled real-time collaboration, faster iteration, and a single source of truth for design assets. Led the transition from v2 to v3 of the design system, rebuilding core components in both design and code. This work focused on components flagged during audits for high inconsistency across products, reducing UI drift and improving implementation quality. Also, I led the introduction of a new illustration system, redefining visual guidelines and aligning illustrations with the updated component library to ensure a cohesive, scalable visual language across the product. Throughout this work, I partnered closely with engineers to align design and code, provided direct implementation feedback, and ensured the system scaled with the product and team.
